Sheldon Goldman

Artist member since 2020
Maple, Ontario

I am primarily self-taught and over the years I have sold my art into collections in Canada and the US. I have also won various awards over the years. One I am most proud of was a competition many years ago(Salon International) held in Jackson, Mississippi. This was combined with the Olympics of ballet and three of my works hung with originals by Degas. This contest was juried by Daniel E. Greene. I began selling my art in 1985. Writers express themselves by writing. I express myself with my art. I have been painting from my youth and the only time I ever took off was during my university years. I have painted using all mediums and for about 15 years, I painted surrealistic watercolours. The switch to another water-based medium was therefore not a great leap, so I have painted in acrylics on canvas since the early 1990's. I made a living selling food ingredients to the food processors over the years as well as being a real estate agent and selling new condominiums. I have been doing my art full time since 2013. My two areas of specialization are landscapes and surrealism. One of the ironies of my art career is that I am colour-blind. I am therefore always striving to tone down my art in order to achieve a more realistic look. I work from my home based in a suburb north of Toronto(Maple). All the paintings I sell have their sides coated in semi-gloss black paint and they are professionally wired. Therefore, it is not necessary to frame my paintings since they are ready to hang. All pricing is in Canadian dollars and delivery is included to all points in Canada and the continental USA.
